Château des Moulins AOP Médoc

The Vines

The Chateau des Moulins has been owned by the same family for 6 générations. Their vines are 50% Cabernet Sauvignon and 50% Merlot.

Terroir

Located northwest of 3 first-growth châteaux and next to the Abbey of Vertheuil. These vineyards were historically run by Monks of the Abbey and are planted on a sandy, gravel soil.

Vinification

Concrete tanks are used, not oak barrels, in order to preserve the complexity of the aromas.

Tasting Notes

This estate produces a floral, polished, and spicy wine. Elegant and juicy with a medium body that is very full on the palate. Rich dark, red berry and thyme flavors.

Food Pairings

Pairs well with rich potato purées (mash) and gratin dauphinoise, mushrooms and truffles and green beans with garlic.
